Robert (Bob) Seed was born on Dec 7, 1961.
He grew up on a farm southwest of Vermilion. He attended Buffalo Coulee School and Mannville High School.
After school he moved to a farm west of Vermilion with a group of young adults to form a small homesteading commune, where they raised animals, gardened, wove blankets and rugs, and other home cottage industries. He met and married Dorothy Ludwig at this time. Their son, Max was born in 1977. They moved to P.E.I. when Max was just a baby, and later returning to Alberta, eventually separating, though both lived in Vermilion till Max finished high school, whereupon Dorothy and Max moved to Vancouver Island, where they live presently.
Robert worked as a grounds keeper at Vermilion Lakeland College, and later trained as a welder, where he then worked at VMM in Vermilion, and then later at Universal in Lloydminster, until his retirement. He then spent a few spring/fall seasons helping out at Killam with his nephew's farming operation.
Robert bought his parent’s house in Vermilion in 2001, where he lived until his death on Apr 13, 2026.
Robert leaves to mourn his passing his son Maximillian Joseph (Max) Seed; Max’s mom Dorothy; brother Garry Seed; and his sisters Cheryl (Harv) Abbott and Ginny (Lyndon) Dohms, as well as 8 nieces and nephews, 25 great nieces and nephews, and 5 great great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Mary Seed and his sister-in- law Joyce Seed.
