Laverne "Verne" Smith

Laverne “Verne” Smith passed away on December 19, 2025, in Wainwright, Alberta at the age of 86 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years Kathy Smith; children Susan (Dave) Flemming, Mitch Smith, and Chris Smith; bestest buddy, considered a daughter Sam Smith; grandchildren Krystal, Jordan, Clayton (Nicole), and Nicole; great grandchildren Zephryn, Macy, and Jax; daughter in law Charlotte Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews,  relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter Miriam Flemming; parents Arthur & Doris Smith; parents in law Joe & Edna Payne; and daughter in law Mikayla Lumgair.

A private family service to take place at a later date.
