Kevin Shostak Obituary

Kevin Shostak passed away on December 27, 2025, in Kitscoty, Alberta at the age of 42 years.

Kevin is my soulmate, my best friend, and my heart — a love so rare and profound that it is like the universe placed us together on purpose. His presence filled every room with warmth, laughter, and a love so deep it wrapped around everyone he cared for. His greatest pride and joy in life are his four children, who he adored with every fiber of his being. To them, he was their hero, their protector, and their safe place.

He was a devoted and thoughtful son, a supportive and loyal brother, and a best friend to those lucky enough to call him family. His nieces and nephews cherished him; he has always been the life of every gathering, the laughter behind every memory, and the gentle soul who always made sure everyone felt seen and loved.

Kevin was often described as a soft teddy bear when it came to his family — tender, kind, and endlessly loving — yet he carried a fierce and enduring strength. He worked hard, took pride in what he did, and never lost his passion for life. His smile was a constant gift to the world, and there was never a day it didn’t shine.

To say he will be missed is an understatement. The hole left in our hearts is immeasurable, and life will never be the same without him. Kevin’s love, laughter, strength, and spirit will live on forever in all of us who were blessed to love him and be loved by him.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Shirral Shostak; children Trayden, Rylee, Lukas, and Toree; mother Janice Bober; father Terry Shostak; sisters Adele (Neil) Zack and Maryann (Blaine) McAmmond; step-siblings Nick (Cassandra) Lakusta, Alex (Johanna) Lakusta, Jordan Bober, Jesse (Brent) Jeffries, Jena (Bill) Dooley, and Jaime (Tyler) Balash; nieces and nephews Layne (Micaela), Sarah, Paige, Mark, Britt, Rosalie, Blair, Bree, Ellie, Kiera, Eoin, Remington, Walter, George, Kya, Brodin, and Kaliana  great niece Luxx; parents in law Fred & Merna Gagnon; father in law Rand Watson; sister in law Chelsey Watson; brothers by heart Jon Cusack, Shannon Brodbin, and Layne Zack; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his aunt Laura Brodbin; uncle and Randy Brodbin; cousin Sonia Vokins; step-mother Jeanne Shostak; step-father Ken Bober; and grandparents Mark & Olga Shostak and Micheal & Eileen Brodbin.
