James Holt

On Monday July 23, 2007 Mr James "Pete" Holt passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital at the age of 92 years . A Celebration of Pete's Life will be held on Friday August 3, 2007 in the St. Johns Minster Anglican Church, Lloydminster at 11:00 AM with cremation following at the LLoydminster Crematorium. Images of Papa Pete: A special place in his diet for spareribs by any means But no place on his plate for certain veggies or any other greens He was one lucky enough to employ thrashing machines But not one to ask for assistance from doctors or Deans. So eager to get out and throw the next cast, He woke everyone to an early morning radio blast Able to accurately recollect stories of the past, Times at the lake always seemed to go so fast. Honored to play any household tune on his sax, Proud to remember the farm and retrace horse tracks, Quick to clear up what seemed to be so far from facts, Just like all others not exempt from income tax. Always willing to detour for chocolate, ice cream, and / or pie, Never willing to end a phone call with an expected good bye, Enjoyed the wind softly blowing sheaths of wheat and rye, Shared his favorite jokes and hand tricks for no reason why. Admired pictures old and new, slowly frame by frame Always eager to dawn his suspenders for the next card game Relaxed on the deck and every squirrel he tried to tame Showed passion in his collection of model freight trains. Touched us enough that even when he is physically gone, Like those before him like Old Dan and Priest-ly John Pap Pete's memories will endure way beyond long A special place in our hearts to him does belong.
