Connie Whiteside Obituary

Connie Faye Whiteside was born on April 5, 1960, in Vermilion, Alberta. She passed away peacefully at the University of Alberta Hospital on July 18, 2024.

Connie grew up on a farm just outside of Hazeldine, Alberta, and spent her formative years in Dewberry, Alberta. She enjoyed a rich and fulfilling childhood surrounded by the beauty of the countryside and the warmth of her family.

She is survived by her beloved children Jesse Robert Meredith John Bowman (Alyssa Irvine) and Madison Arielle Bowman; cherished grandchildren Kaisley Fae Lorraine Bowman and Ryleigh Jean Bowman; devoted parents  Meredith John Whiteside and Lorraine Ann Whiteside; loving siblings Marilyn Louise Whiteside (Karac Hendriks-West) and David John Whiteside (Dale Reinheller); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Barry Edsel Bowman, the father of her children, for his love and support.

Connie's life was marked by her deep love for her family and community. Known for her kind heart and resilience, she brought people together and demonstrated honesty, kindness, and the importance of family in every aspect of her life. Her strength and determination, especially in the face of her illness, were an inspiration to all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bonnyville Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Dewberry community for their ongoing support. They are also deeply grateful to the healthcare professionals who cared for Connie at the Cross Cancer Institute, the University of Alberta Hospital, and especially the cancer care team at the Bonnyville Cancer Centre, who provided exceptional care.

Connie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
