Brian Lauinger Obituary

Brian James Lauinger passed away suddenly at his home at Laurier Lake, AB on November 24, 2019 at the age of 55 years.

Brian is dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Sandra; his son Matthew (Kylee) and their children Kayne, Jace, and Brielle; his daughter Jennifer (Jesse) Handel and their children Mackenzie and Ella, brothers Floyd (Nina), Robert (Hilaria), Dale (Allison); and his sister Doreen (Allan) Buckley. Brian is also survived by a few very close meaningful friends, Bernie, Bonnie, Shawn Weber, and Sheldon, Denise, Tennille, Andon Ballas.

Brian was predeceased by his parents John and Mary and his brother Ernie.

Brian was born on June 18, 1964 and was the youngest of 6 siblings. He grew up on the family farm outside of Unity, Saskatchewan and this is where he learned to love the outdoors which carried on with him throughout his life. In 1983, Brian married Sandra Cowan and together they raised their two children, Matthew and Jennifer. Brian instilled the values of fishing and hunting into his kids; when they were old enough to walk, he would take them with him, always saying it was good for them to learn. He passed his passion for nature on to his five grandchildren as well, including as recently as two days prior, out setting his coyote traps with the grandsons. His first passion though, were his five grandchildren. Every thought, every decision, and every action were about the grandkids having fun, connecting, and learning to love life through their grandpa. With these kids was where he loved his life the most. Anyone who knew Brian or had a conversation with him knew at some point the discussion would either end up or start with a good hunting or fishing story.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lloydminster Exhibition Association, located in the Prairie Room, 5521 49 AVENUE, LLOYDMINSTER.
